I really haven't felt like myself in years. I finally feel good again, and I am so happy. I could chalk it all up to the right thyroid medication, but I really think it's a combination of that, regular exercise and a good diet.
This morning I was able to get up, get the kids ready, do a couple core exercises with my oldest son and then go to the gym after I dropped of my 5 year old at VPK.
At the gym, I jumped in the pool. I swam a fun warm-up of 50m breaststroke, a 50m freestyle then a 25m backstroke, followed by 25m of just kicking. As I began to recount my swim to blog about it here, I realized that I only swam 100m of my 200m freestyle swim today (oops!). I also only swam 50m of my 100m cooldown (oops again!). I wondered why my swim felt so short. I am tempted to rush off back into the pool, but I will refrain from doing so. I will just make sure that I remember to county by 25m not by 50m when I get in the pool for my swim next time.
Up next was a run/walk on the treadmill. I am pushing for a 10 minute per mile pace as I train, so the treadmill is really helping me with this. My NewBalance GPS Marathon watch helps me keep on track on the weekend when I run outside. I truly love running outside, but I can't bring myself to push the jogging stroller just yet while trying to keep that pace. I will eventually have to run with it when I run some longer distances, but for now, I am starting out without it!
All-in-all, I feel great, and I am excited about this great start to this new week of training!
